Start with the form

The form at the bottom of this page is the way to reach us. We reply by email to the address you give, with questions or with a first suggestion of a house and a room. Here is what makes that first reply useful.

How to reach us

Send the form on this page or on any other page of the site; they all reach the same place. Five fields are enough to start: which trip, your name, your email, when you plan to travel and how many of you there are. The optional section lets you tell us about rooms, food and anything else.

We reply by email to the address you give. If you have not heard from us, check your spam folder; replies to a new address sometimes land there. There is no phone line on this site at present.

What makes the first reply useful

  • The trip, or 'not sure'. If you are undecided, tell us what appeals: gardens, boats, cooking, quiet.
  • Dates or a month. Weekends and the weeks before Tet fill first.
  • Who is travelling. Adults, children and their ages, anyone who needs their own room.
  • Your bathroom line. 'Private only', 'shared is fine' or 'advise me'.
  • Heat. Whether you need air conditioning, especially from March to May.
  • Food. Vegetarian, no fish sauce, allergies. Households cook to it with a day's notice.
  • Mobility. Riverbank steps, small boats and narrow bridges are common; we can plan around them.
  • Where you start. A hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho or elsewhere.

Examples of messages we can answer straight away

  • "Two adults, mid-January, An Binh for one night. Private bathroom please; air-con not needed. Starting from District 1."
  • "Family of four, children 7 and 10, late June. Something with fishing and boats, two nights if possible. Shared bathroom is fine."
  • "Three friends, February, four days, happy with simple rooms. One of us is vegetarian."

These are illustrations of the kind of detail that helps, not messages from real travellers.

What happens next

  1. We read your message and ask households about the room you need on your dates.
  2. If anything is unclear we reply with questions first.
  3. We send a quote: house, room, bathroom, photos, and each line priced.
  4. You change what you like; each version is priced again in full.
  5. When you confirm in writing, we confirm with the household and send payment instructions on the quote.

Details: how to book and pricing.

Payment safety and your data

Do not send card details by email. How to pay is set out on your written quotation. What the form collects and how it is used is in the privacy policy.

Before you pay

If a message asks you to pay to an account that is not shown on your written quotation, do not pay. Send the form and ask us.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

Is there a phone number or an office?

Not on this site at present. The form reaches us; we reply by email.

Can I ask a general question about homestays?

Yes. The pages on what a homestay night is like and on etiquette answer the common ones; for anything else, use the form.

Can I ask for a specific household?

Yes. Put its name in the notes. We check whether it has the room you need and tell you honestly if we would suggest another.
